Tailor-made tests / special tests
This involves subjecting parts to several simultaneous and co-ordinated stresses. An attempt is made to age the parts in an accelerated fashion by re-creating their life cycles.
That way, their possible failure modes can be highlighted. Design of tailor-made tests, performance of tests in accordance with car manufacturer specifications or existing or new standards.
Examples :
- Fuel hoses: fuel circulation + cycled pressure + travel + temperature
- Car dome lights: Car dome lights: cycled electrical power supply + control button actuation + temperature
