Vibratory expert reports: Predictive maintenance by vibratory analysis
The vibrations induced by a rotating machine translate the dynamic stresses caused by parts in movement. Analysis of this vibratory signature allows a diagnostic to be drawn up on the operation of the machine and detect defects at an early stage.
Maintenance of machines by analysis of vibrations is qualified as predictive as it thus allows failures to be better managed by intervening before breakage, during scheduled halts, reducing the risk of untimely stops in production following a sudden failure.
