Rheology test, applied rheology

The synthetic material laboratory of the CETIM-CERMAT centre specializes in injection processes for plastic materials. It includes either simulating injection through calculation or optimizing the process.

The Calculation approach of applied rheology

Its aim is to plan the result of injecting a part (dimensional aspects, shrinkage, etc.) according to various parameters such as the way cooling channels are distributed over the mould, the various temperatures (at the level of the injection screw, according to the coordinates in the mould, etc.), cycle times, etc., and optimizing the result by influencing the parameters of the injection cycle in a virtual way (Tº, p, speed, matter, etc.). At the end of the simulation, the calculation enables assessment of cooling times, shrinkages and deformations of the moulded part.

The calculation unit provides assistance:
- to plastics processing companies during the tool design phase
- within the framework of advanced assessments and analyses of injected part failures.

The Composite approach

The CETIM-CERMAT centre can calculate and develop prototypes on your behalf.
